Scientists from ethnic minority backgrounds

There is currently a lot of attention being paid in universities and beyond to make study and research more inclusive with respect to ethnicity.

Acknowledging the underrepresentation of students from ethnic minority backgrounds progressing into STEM careers, a variety of networks and organisations now exist to support scientists and students, and increase this representation. Mentoring schemes are emerging within individual universities and from those national networks, recognising that visible role models can be helpful for those attempting to progress in these careers.
